Moving Averages (MA) are the backbone of technical analysis. They smooth out price data to create a single flowing line, making it easier to identify the market trend without the "noise" of daily price fluctuations.
In the Stock Analyzer app, we focus on three primary averages:
MA50 (Short-term Trend): Shows the average price over the last 50 trading days. It’s perfect for swing traders looking for medium-term momentum.
MA200 (Long-term Trend): This is the "ultimate" indicator. If a stock is trading above its MA200, it is in a long-term bull market. If it's below, stay cautious.
A "Golden Cross" occurs when the MA50 crosses above the MA200. This is a very strong bullish signal that often leads to a massive price rally in Indian blue-chip stocks.
